Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center’s Sleep Disorders Center recently received accreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).
To receive this accreditation, a sleep center must meet or exceed the current health care standards provided by the AASM. The accreditation process involves a detailed inspection of the facilities and the staff, including evaluation of testing procedures, patient contacts, and physician training.
“Regional’s) center is a significant resource to the local medical community and will provide academic and scientific value in addition to the highest quality care for patients suffering from sleep disorders,” commented Dr. Clete Kushida, AASM president.
The AASM currently accredits more than 1,800 sleep medicine centers and laboratories across the country.
