Truckers need to get in shape to avoid sleep apnea  | read this item

Federal regulators say that they will enhance efforts to minimize cases of sleep apnea and other health issues for truckers.

The regulators have already released a notice addressed to the truckers, asking them to get in shape and get healthy.

Majority of truckers are not in top physical shape, making them prone to health problems, including sleep apnea. Because these sleep condition is linked to fatigue, it can lead to road accidents for the drivers.

Until now, the government has never mandated a test for the drivers, who drive long and rigorous trips daily.
