Teenager sleeps for 10 days  | read this item

Louisa Ball isn’t your average teenager. She has a rare disorder that causes prolonged hours of sleep. In some cases, it takes 10 days before she wakes up!

The neurological disorder has caused her to miss holidays, family events, and birthdays.

She began feeling the symptoms in 2008. As a 14 year-old, she began dozing off in class and behaving strangely.

Ball says that she was unaware of what she was doing and saying, prompting her friends and family to think that something was wrong. In some cases, she would hallucinate and black out and sleep for 10 consecutive days.

She has the Klein-Levin Syndrome (KLS), which has no known cure.
