According to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, around 70 million Americans have a sleep disorder.

To raise awareness about the emerging health concern, Sparks Regional Medical center held a free Lunch and Learn event that featured the center’s new sleep facility.

Experts say that sleep disorders can affect people of all ages, but are relatively easy to treat once diagnosed.

Unfortunately, diagnosis is the main problem. Most people who have a sleep disorder don’t even know it. And, they take the issue likely.

However, sleep disorders should be taken seriously. They are linked to several health complications, including strokes and heart problems.
