[PR Newswire] — Pediatric sleep medicine services are now offered at Sleep HealthCenters Framingham location at 125 Newbury Street.
Dr. Sandra Horowitz, Medical Director of the Sleep HealthCenter of Framingham comments, “We are excited to offer parents the opportunity and convenience of a suburban location for pediatric services which include sleep consultations and evaluations, diagnostic sleep studies, behavioral sleep medicine clinics and Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) titration and therapy.”
Children frequently don’t complain of the same symptoms as adults with OSA. They will rarely admit daytime sleepiness and therefore, only a polysomnogram (PSG), which is commonly known as a sleep study, can tell if your child’s snoring indicates the presence of OSA. Overweight children are more likely to have sleep apnea and untreated OSA in children can lead to failure to thrive, hypertension and other conditions. Poor school performance, aggressive behavior and anxiety can also surface.
We are pleased to expand our pediatric services in Framingham,” said Paul Valentine, CEO of Sleep HealthCenters, “Our pediatric center at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary opened in 2007 and we look forward to bringing the same level of quality pediatric care to Metro West.”
Dr. Sandra Horowitz will be speaking Thursday night, October 29 at the Framingham Public Library on “Living with Sleep Apnea: Better Living through Good Sleep” at 6:30 PM. All are welcome to attend.
