Experts claim that obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) can lead to cardiovascular problems.
In the last decade, several studies have linked OSA to high blood pressure. Statistics indicate that people who need three or more medications for hypertension have an 80 percent chance of having OSA.
Additionally, people who have chronic heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and coronary heart disease are more prone to OSA.
That’s why people with heart conditions need to be diagnosed with sleep studies to determine if they have OSA. If OSA is left undiagnosed and untreated, it can have critical repercussions.
Also, patients with type 2 diabetes are at risk of heart attack it their condition is not properly managed.
