According to a new study, diagnosing and treating obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) can now be performed at the comfort of your own home.
Researchers from the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, SK, and Canada worked together to compare OSA treatments on patients that were performed either at home or in sleep laboratories.
The comparison variables included sleepiness, sleep quality, quality of life, blood pressure, and continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) adherence on more than 100 patients.
After four weeks of study, there were no significant differences between variables at home and at the sleep laboratory.
Researchers then concluded that selected patients can opt for home treatments.
