Siix Corporation to develop sleep apnea device | 
Siix Corporation—a provider of electronic manufacturing services—has partnered with the Osaka Bioscience Institute Foundation to develop a simple device that measures and monitors sleep-related brain wave patterns.
The new device will help evaluate people, who are diagnosed with sleep apnea and other sleep disorders.
Typically, this type of procedure requires a room full of equipment. With this device, the procedure is made compact and easy.
The new device is as big as a pack of cigarettes. It is fitted on the head. This will allow people to diagnose sleep disorders from the comfort of their home without spending too much on the medical bill.
Siix will work on miniaturizing the technology and hopes to commercialize the product by next spring. The current prototype measure brain waves, but the company says that it will add extra electrodes to allow it to measure electrical signals that are associated with muscle movement.
