While new mothers are getting enough sleep, they are not high-quality sleep.
Recent research examined a group of new moms. Researchers found that the women only get seven hours of sleep during their baby’s first four months. While this passes the recommended hours of sleep for an average American, the sleep quality is poor.
Researchers found out that the new mom’s sleep is always interrupted. As a result, the new mothers are awake for a total of two hours a night.
Previously, experts said that new mothers are not getting enough sleep hours. That apparently is not the case based on the findings of the new research.
Because the identified problem is different, it also offers different solutions.
