More and more Americans are suffering from sleep apnea every year.
Some doctors attribute this to the baby boomer population getting older. However, it is the veteran population who are seeing more cases of sleep apnea.
According to the Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinics (SORCC), there have been more cases of veterans seeking treatment for sleep disorders in the past years. Veterans Affairs says that more than 60,000 American vets are receiving benefits for sleep apnea.
There are several risks that are associated with sleep apnea, including obesity, heavy snoring, and high-blood pressure.
Its prevalence among veterans needs more research and analysis to find more concise claims.
