[I-Newswire] — Sleep Guru Proves That Quality Sleep is a Natural Habit When You Know How
In America alone, 58% of the population suffer from insomnia or some type of sleep disorder. Globally, people are wasting billions of dollars buying into products which claim to give you a better night’s sleep. Sleeping pill consumption is on the rise and sleep hygiene habits continue to decline. Sleep hygiene guru Peter Litchfield is leading the revolution for the promotion of natural solutions to sleeplessness. His book, ‘Six Steps to Sleep Now’, is the result of a 10 year study into human sleeping habits and his own personal sleep experiences.
At his recent book release party in London, Litchfield explained; “by definition no man is an insomniac, he is simply acting against the forces of nature and his natural rhythm, do you think our caveman ancestors had sleep problems? Of course not, bad sleep is a result of modern lifestyle for which the body is not equipped”. Six Steps to Sleep Now contains six key steps to achieving quality sleep. It focuses on the body’s natural cycle and provides practical recommendations to sleep quicker, longer and deeper.
In addition to the six step program the book offers solutions and advice for subjects such as Waking up During the Night, Stress, Anxiety and Sleep, Sleeping the Night before a Big Occasion, Napping, Sleeping with a Partner, Smoking and Sleep, Alcohol and Sleep and Sleeping on an Aeroplane. “I included a selection of chapters on subjects which I know are a problem or considerably questioned by those who experience poor sleep”, Litchfield said.
Litchfield’s sleep therapies are all naturally inspired and stem from personal experiences as a sleepless teen and twenty something. Having worked in the music industry for over 10 years, in and out of studios and clubs burning the midnight oil, Litchfield found himself at a desperate point of exhaustion and with a body clock that could not differentiate night from day.
Fed up with a lack of understanding by textbook physicians and the quick temporary fix offering of sleeping pills, Litchfield set off on his own spiritual path to connect his body back with the natural realm of sleep. His studies have reached far and wide, through the animal kingdom and the early human tribal communities, to analyses of the modern day routine of man. “I am no academic, but I truly believe in self-education. I had a problem that so-called professionals could not be bothered to help me solve, so I dug deep and devised my own solution which I can now share with others who are walking in the shoes I used to wear”.
