According to health officials, 11 percent of the United States (US) population is not getting enough sleep and these sleep disorders are more prominent in women compared to men.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also cited that around 50-70 million Americans suffer from chronic sleep and wakefulness disorders.
CDC reported that 11.1 percent of the US population has not been getting enough sleep for the past nine months. 12.4 percent of women are not getting enough sleep and 9.9 percent of men.
The CDC collected data from adults across 50 US states.
Sleep disorders have been linked to mental distress, depression, anxiety, obesity, hypertension, as well as other illnesses.
