ASAA prepares for sleep apnea conference  | read this item

The American Sleep Apnea Association (ASAA) will be conducting its first “Sleep Apnea & Trucking Conference” on May 11-12 in Baltimore. The conference is aiming to spread awareness about sleep apnea, its dangers, cures, and simple prevention tips.

“Based on significant industry interest in this issue, we expect that this conference will be widely attended,” anticipates Christie Cullinan, director of workplace and fleet safety for the American Trucking Association. She also helped organize the conference as an advisory board member.

Ed Grandi—executive director of ASAA—says that the conference seeks to spread information about sleep apnea.

“Our focus is on providing education and awareness to the trucking community about an issue that is rife with misinformation and confusion,” explained Grandi. “ASAA will do everything we can to accommodate those who want to attend, including placing a limit on the number of exhibitors to ensure that anyone who wants to attend is able to.”
